Clos Devalpierre cattery was founded in
1989.
First and foremost looking for quality, we opted for
American breeders. In 1994, we contacted Darlene FEGER
from KITTY CHARM cattery (USA). Darlene sent us KITTY
CHARM SUNRAYS ON ICE of DEVALPIERRE, a cream and white
harlequin male. Then we contacted RONLYN cattery (USA).
We received from Lynn FERRY, a tortoiseshell female
RONLYN SHOOTING STAR of DEVALPIERRE.
Our first kittens out of these two cats were splendid but
we had to continue improving our Persians.
In 1995, we imported from the US a couple of Persians
from CATTRAX cattery. The morphology, quality and length
of coat of these Persians considerably improved our
kittens. We entered our first nice Persians in cat shows
in France, Switzerland, Monaco, Belgium and Luxembourg.
Our hard work was finally paying off. Our Persians
obtained awards such as Best Variété, Best of Best, and
Best in show. We selected our reproductive cats from
these breedings. We have to consider beauty, but an
important point is to obtain females with a good maternal
instinct and with big boning.
In the spring of 2007, we contacted Steeplechase Cattery
(USA), known for breeding Persians with small ears. Jean,
sent us STEEPLECHASE JIMMY’Z of DEVALPIERRE, a
magnificent blue Persian male. Jimmy, bred with females
from our own lines, gave excellent results. Very small
ears, magnificent round eyes, nice smooth head and very
nice coats with nice dilute colors. Affectionate and well
balanced kittens.
In the spring of 2007 we also contacted Lisa from
Cattillak cattery in the US. A magnificent blue silver
tabby and white van Persian male, CATTILLAK LIENING of
DEVALPIERRE is now part of our cattery.
In 2008 our new breeding program will consist of silver
tabby and white bicolours with emphasis on Vans. A dream
for over 15 years.
Our Persians are DNA PKD-tested. The samples for each cat
were taken by our veterinarian and sent to Antagène
laboratory.
The favourite colors in our breeding program are : white,
blue, cream, red, as well as blue-cream, blue and white,
cream and white, red and white, blue cream and white ,and
occasionally black and black and white.
Our Persians are registered with LOOF. The kittens are
sold with a LOOF pedigree, an invoice, a sales contract,
a vaccination certificate (first vaccination against
thypux + coryza), and micro-chipped.
Our cattery is registered with: CAT FANCIERS ASSOCIATION
in the USA.
Each Persian from our cattery is registered with CFA and
has a CFA pedigree.
We will continue attending LOOF shows, and, beginning in
2008, we will show our cats in CFA.
